Compensation Consultant

The Compensation Consultant consults with business partners and leaders on the application of Mosaic base, annual incentive and long-term incentive policies, programs and guidelines to salaried employees. This person will manage the execution of the annual total compensation planning and ad hoc pay adjustment processes by the business unit, in accordance with global process, systems and tools as well as provide feedback to Compensation Center of Excellence (CoE) on all aspects of compensation program management including design or guidelines, salary structure changes, process improvement, communications, training and effectiveness. Additional responsibilities will include maintaining external benchmark information for relevant positions and geographic markets and evaluates the competitive positioning of Mosaic compensation programs, evaluating business unit compensation practices for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing standard compensation training to managers to reinforce the Mosaic pay principles and improve the effectiveness of the compensation spend.
What will you do?
Collaborates with CoE in the planning, development and implementation of compensation budgets, programs and processes. Evaluates the effectiveness of compensation programs and consults with BU leadership to ensure strong alignment with business strategies and objectives. Collaborates with HR generalists to prepare the organization for compensation decision making and achieve outcomes consistent with Mosaic's compensation philosophy and strategy. Provides compensation reports and analysis relating to compensation processes, projects, issues and opportunities for improvement.
Evaluates the pay positioning of total compensation within the business unit and models proposed actions required to maintain competitiveness. Provides guidance and direction on ad hoc pay decisions, including offer letters and retention actions. Manages market adjustment and promotion process for business unit in conformance with Mosaic policy or guidelines. Develops individual incentives, group recognition or retention programs unique to the business unit and gains CoE approval for governance purposes.
Oversees the quality of job documentation and job evaluation outcomes for the business unit. Participates in job evaluation peer reviews and proposes salary grade changes for jobs within the business unit. Proposes adjustments to general or functional salary structures within a market. Conducts job classification and other compliance-related functions for salaried positions under FLSA, EEO, Wage & Hour and other applicable laws and regulations, in accordance with Mosaic policy.
Leads annual incentive program education, training and communication activities for business unit sub-plans, using program and business specific content and tools. Manages quarterly and annual bonus administration for business unit hourly employee plans.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Human Resources or related field of study required.
Master's degree preferred.
Human Resources or Finance discipline preferred.
7+ years of experience performing compensation analyst, consultant or manager roles, and the following required:
Base pay program design and administration
Job evaluation and market pricing
Survey management
Bonus administration
Consultative analysis
Compensation compliance
Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook skills required
HRMS system required.
Global compensation processes, reporting and governance
Project management
Compensation communications and training development
Special incentive design
Retention and recognition program design
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
Workday HRMS preferred.
Salary administration/ job evaluation systems preferred.
Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills
Strong interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills

Ability to interpret quantitative data using statistical techniques
Ability to deal with and protect highly confidential information

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
