The Work You Will Do:
OPS Park Ranger (37970124) Alafia River State Park 14326 South County Road 39 Lithia, FL 33547 Alafia River State Park is looking for a self-motivated park service professional to fill an OPS park ranger position, providing visitor services, administration and protection.
The applicant must possess good visitor service and administrative skills.
The applicant must be able to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
This is a 24-hour-per-week position with scheduled hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Where You Will Work:
Standing out from the relatively flat topography of Central Florida is Alafia River State Park, a reclaimed phosphate mine with some of the most radical elevation changes in the state.
This makes it a hot spot for mountain bikers who traverse the scenic and challenging International Mountain Bike Association trails.
The park is located 10 miles southeast of Tampa on County Road 39.

This is moderately independent work providing Visitor Services.
Administration, and Protection of Alafia River State Park.
VISITOR SERVICES - Explains facilities and services provided for public use, enjoyment and education; meets visitors, answers questions, provides information and directions in an accurate and professional manner.
Attempts to resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations.
Provides natural and cultural history interpretive programs and services via presentations, walks and other programs and unit specific services as directed.
ADMINISTRATION - Prepares forms and reports on a wide range of subjects including visitation and accidents.
Answers telephone operates park radio, computer and various office equipment.
Collects fees, performs cash register transactions and reconciles receipts.
Orders, sells and inventories resale merchandise.
Answers correspondence and maintains park files.
Responsible for security of cash fund.
PROTECTION- Assist with monitoring park opening and closing procedures and responding to incidents.
OTHER - Performs other related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
