Onsite - Lithia, FLSenior Manager EngineeringThe Sr.
Manager Engineering provides leadership for the project management requirements for the capital projects in the areas of responsibility.
They will work with stakeholders and business unit managers through the planning, engineering and procurement phases of a capital project and will work closely with the construction team to ensure safe and timely execution of projects.
What will you do? Project scoping:
Working with the Project Managers and stakeholders:
Perform field measurements and verification of existing equipment and constructions as needed to support design work.
Verify specifications with stakeholders.
Review drawings.
Planning:
Lead the Project Planning and Engineering group assigned to develop labor, equipment and material estimates and construction sequence to facilitate development of project schedules and budgets.
Provide input based on experience to management to ensure front end planning is sound and that realistic expectations for construction timelines are being set.
Collaborate on planning of projects and coordinate efforts and resources with relevant departments.
Procurement:
Lead the Project Management and Purchasing team assigned to support the tender process:
lead bid meetings and bid clarifications.
Budget and Planning:
Manage capital budget in conjunction with site leadership teams.
Collaborate on creating future year forecasts and execute front end engineering and scoping to create an accurate forecast.
Project management and execution - Effectively manage a portfolio of capital projects for both the Faustina & Uncle Sam sites that consist of turnaround related and not-turnaround related projects.
Cost Control - Monitor overall project costs vs.
budget including consultants, contractors/labor, materials and all other costs.
Intervene if project costs are deviating unfavorably from plan.
Report on cost variances with reasons and recommend corrective actions.
Schedule - Develop and approve project schedules and monitor project progress to ensure timelines are met.
Intervene and take action if schedule problems arise and provide mitigation measures to realign progress to required needs.
EHS - Through daily, weekly and long-range involvement related to Environment, Health and Safety, maintain the safe execution of assigned projects.
Will be following Mosaic's management system and contractor safety requirements.
People Management:
Coach and develop team members to become effective project engineers and coordinators.
Mentor junior engineers to obtain professional engineering designation.
What do you need for this role? Bachelor's Degree required, Engineering or Technical degree, preferred.
10+years of engineering, project management, or construction management experience 4
years of people leader and supervisory experience Proficiency with standard office related software (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project along with other standard office related software are required.
Requires strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
Bonus if you have the following:
Professional engineering designation preferred.
SAP or Maximo experience.
